About EmTree
Hey, I’m Em!
I started making soap because I couldn’t find anything that worked for my skin. Everything at the store was full of colorants and scents that left me red and itchy, so I decided to teach myself. At first it was just for me, a way to make something that looked beautiful, smelled amazing, and actually felt good. Then I started sharing my creations with friends, family, and coworkers, and the feedback was too strong to ignore: you should really do something with this. That’s how EmTree came to life.
What started as a personal need has grown into a creative practice, a mix of artistry, curiosity, and care. I love playing with colors and scents, finding combinations that feel nostalgic, grounding, or just a little weird in the best way. Every bar is still handmade with that same spirit: practical enough for daily use but special enough to make it a ritual.
Q&A with Em
What makes your products different?
Every recipe is built on intention. I choose ingredients that are kind to skin and the planet, with no fillers or unnecessary extras. I also bring in artistry: swirls of color, unexpected scents, designs that feel joyful. They’re made to be used, but also to be enjoyed.
What do you love about selling at markets?
Markets are where the magic happens. People smell, laugh, tell stories, and sometimes share the strangest scent memories with me. I’ve learned that trust is built in those little moments, when someone holds a bar, hears the story behind it, and realizes it’s made by a real person who cares.
What’s your favorite product right now?
Honey Bee will always have my heart. It was one of my first soaps and is still a bestseller. But honestly, my favorite changes with the seasons. I love when a bar can capture a mood, a memory, or even a whole day.
What does EmTree stand for today?
Caring for yourself in small, meaningful ways. Simple luxuries that remind you to slow down and enjoy the moment. A blend of sustainability, creativity, and community — because this isn’t just about soap, it’s about connection.
